Our Trip to the Griffith Observatory

For those of you who know Steven and I, you know that Steven is pretty easy to please.  He is perfectly content hanging around the house, lounging our summer away.  I, on the other hand, am a busy body and HAVE to do something every day.  Most of our summer days I drive Steven crazy with my "What are we going to do today?" or "Let's go here" comments.  So when we woke up one Tuesday morning during the first week of summer and Steven said, "Hey babe, lets take the girls to the Griffith Observatory!" I jumped at the chance to get out and go.

Steven LOVES anything to do with astronomy and it just so happened that Tuesday was "The Transit of Venus" an event that I knew NOTHING about, but Steven had been researching.  So we packed the girls in the car and headed to LA to watch Venus transit across the Sun-an event that won't happen again until 2117-a true once in a lifetime experience. When we got there I was a little skeptical.  The place was packed, which meant we had to park about a mile and a half away and truck the girls up a windy road with no sidewalk but I am really glad I "went with the flow" and didn't complain.  We had a great time and the girls did great....minus Maddie's 5 minute, no reason meltdown right when we got there. I had never been to the Observatory before and it was really neat, complete with some amazing views AKA photo opts for me!

Ashley's Baby Shower

I have really been doing a terrible job at updating my blog lately, and SO much has happened in this first month of summer. My sister Ashley is having her first baby....a GIRL, due August 19th.  We threw a shower for her EARLY in June at my parents house in Chino Hills.  Most of the planning was done by my mom, who I might add is just as crazy as her daughters when it comes to party planning.  The theme for the shower was "Ciao Bella Baby" all based around a painting Ashley and Nate found of a Vespa scooter a while before they were even expecting.  The shower turned out absolutely beautiful! I cannot wait to meet me precious niece....and find out her name since Ashley and Nate are keeping that a secret until her arrival.  Here are some pictures of the shower....

I am so over the moon excited for my sister and Nate!  They truly are going to be AMAZING parents and are so deserving of this little miracle.  I cannot wait for my girls to have a little girl cousin to play with and grow up with.  My sisters and I are still so close with all of our cousins and I can't wait to pass all of our family traditions down to our little girls!

I'm Thirty!!

I know this post is about a month late, but what can I say, life has been happening! I turned the big 3-0 on May 18th.  I still can't believe I'm thirty! I remember being in high school and thinking, "Oh my gosh, 30 is SO old!" and here I am.  Much to my surprise, I was quite okay and actually ready for this next decade in my life! I have an amazing husband, two beautiful little girls who have made my life so much fuller than I ever dreamed possible, a job I love that allows me so much time at home with my family, and the greatest family and friends.  I am finally at a place where I know exactly who I  am and am 125% comfortable! I can't wait to see what this next decade brings!
For the big day I headed to Rock the Keys Piano Bar with all my family and friends and had an ABSOLUTE blast! We sang, danced, and drank the night away! Here are some pictures from the night...
