Miss Brooklyn Turns 18 Months!

On October 20th, our Miss Brooklyn Jane hit the 18 month mark! I don't know where the time has gone, but I can't believe that she is halfway to 2?? She cracks me up every day! She is SO LOUD, funny, energetic, and crazy! Every day we can see a little more of her little personality and it makes my heart smile to see her and Madison's relationship grow stronger!

Here are some fun 18 months stats....
  • Favorite Food:  Bananas, Fruit Snacks, Eggs & Chicken....but she is a GREAT eater! She is also a drink crusher so we have to be careful to not let her drink too much during meal time!
  • Favorite Toys:  She loves stacking blocks, drawing on the Magna Doodle, & her animal puzzles.
  • Obsessions: Shoes and toothbrushes!
  • Words She Can Say:  Hello, Mommy, Dadda, Peppa, Tree, and No!
  • Favorite Shows:  Peppa Pig, Einsteins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Gabba & Doc McStuffins

We love you so much, Brooklyn Jane!!

Date Day, Go Trojans!

About a month ago Steven scored us tickets to the USC football game from a high school friend.  Papa and Nana Falls volunteered to watch the girls for the day and we got to make a date out of it! We headed to L.A. Live at about noon and hung out and had a peaceful, adult only lunch at ESPN Zone watching some of the morning football games before heading to the SC game.
While we were at ESPN Zone, one of our friends, Justin, who happens to be an L.A.P.D. officer called Steven and graciously offered to let us park at his station and drive us in his police car to and from the game.  We were stoked because parking around The Coliseum is pretty pricey and it would be my first time in a police car so I was pretty excited. And then nervous when Justin showed us some of his police moves, flashing his car's lights and speeding through traffic!
We had a great time and to top it off, The Trojans won!

Welcome to the World, Miss Aliya Anoush

On October 1st, my brother and sister-in-law welcomed their first baby girl into the world, Miss Aliya Anoush Falls!! My sister-in-law, Annie, went into the hospital late the previous evening to be induced and I barely made it to the hospital in time because sometime around noon the next day, the doctor decided he was going to deliver her via c-section.
I got news of the c-section while I was driving to the hospital. I must have got to the hospital around 1:30 and a little after two she was here!! We got to watch her in the nursery window for about an hour while Annie was in recovery! She is absolutely perfect and definitely got those strong Falls' genes because she looks a lot like our girls!
I am so thankful that I was able to be there for her birth and can't wait for the memories she will make with our girls growing up! Her birth takes the grandkid total on the Falls' side to 6, with another due to join the bunch in late December!!

L.A. County Fair Date W/ Mommy!

Every September my school takes a field trip day to the fair.  This is the second year that Maddie got to come with me and join in on the fun! We had a great time looking at the sting rays, eating junk food, feeding the animals, going on the rides, and Maddie's favorite...taking pictures in the little picture stands! I'm not exagerrating when I say that EVERY picture stand we came across, we had to stop and take a picture!

Tap & Jazz

The start of the new school year also meant that Madison got to start dance class again! She had danced for a few months last year, but then once she started preschool we had to stop because the dates and times conflicted.  She had been asking me for a few months if she could dance again so we decided it was time to sign her back up!
She is having a great time dancing and her teacher, Miss Jessica, is amazing! Did I mention that she also gets to dance with her two cousins, Riley and Rianne, and one of my close friends little girls, Janie?  They have such a fun time dancing and playing together and look absolutely adorable!!
Ready for my first day of dance...

Back to Reality...Welcome September!

Since Steven and I are both teachers, we pretty much "fly by the seat of our pants" all summer which is fantastic! But once September comes around,  its back to the good old schedule!
Madison just started her second year at "The Learning Tree" preschool in Chino Hills! She did so well in the 3-year old class last year that the teachers recommended she move up to the 4-year old class this year, even though she doesn't turn 4 until the end of December and has two years before she can start kindergarten (excuse my bragging mamma moment but I am just so darn proud of her). Madison loves her school and her teachers- Miss Heather and Miss Brenda, and most of the kids from her class last year are in her class again this year.
On the first day of school her teachers invited the parents to stay for the first 30 minutes and do some activities with our kids.  I had such a fun time with Madison completing her "back to school" scavenger hunt. Miss Heather ended our time together by reading the book The Kissing Hand.  The story talks about  a little raccoon who doesn't want his mommy to leave (talk about a tear jerker...I really had to suck it up) and then had the mommy's and daddy's trace their hand and had the kids kiss it and keep it in their backpacks in case they missed us during the day!
Here are some pictures from our photo shoot prior to her first day of school and her first day....
